Feeling blue collar at a white-collar job

A note to those who need it:

Just stopping in to remind you that are doing a great job and keep up the great work! I realize that working a full-time job can sometimes get…monotonous. And very underrated. If you’re like me, you’ve probably been putting in a lot of extra hours lately. You’ve probably even had to take the lead on a few projects or…you might be stressing out because you’re trying to do everyone else’s job while doing yours, too. It’s frustrating! But the work you do matters to someone. And whether you know it or not, someone is watching you blossom into the eager, well-rounded professional you’ll soon become.

Picture that says, "you are your only limit"

I know it’s difficult because you’ve probably spent so much time studying in school, working internships and learning all about your career field…just to end up at a place where no one respects you and you’re burdened with all the menial tasks around the office. You didn’t sign up for this, right? But, hey. People at work may talk down to you. They may disregard your opinions. They may even publicly criticize you in front of the whole team. But only you are in control of your own life. Continue the week by sitting down and setting some goals for yourself. Every time I feel like I’m wasting my time or talent at work, I make a mental list of all the things I’m learning at the job. And I focus on that. Once I view everything as a lesson, it becomes so easy to brush off all the negativity. What are some lessons you’ve learned so far this month?

Continue to be your best self. Hard work pays off, and if you keep at it, you will definitely reap the rewards. In the meantime, don’t be so hard on yourself. Every day is a gift — another chance to make a change, another chance for adventure. So hold your head up. The best is yet to come.
